PLEASE WAIT A MOMENT
Violence injects itself into the lives of survivors even after the incident itself has long passed, impacting their very ability to rebuild their lives. Project S.H.E., Hyderabad's leading student NGO, works to dismantle this systemic gender-based violence as well as extend support to survivor safe houses.

Hi, I’m Sanskriti Mohan, the founder of Project S.H.E. We’re an NGO based in Hyderabad, India, and I want to share the story of how this organisation came to be.
In August 2024, a case shook India. The RG Kar case involved the rape of a young doctor on campus during her 48-hour shift. This atrocity sparked nationwide outrage, causing thousands of people to talk about it online. What was most disturbing, though, wasn’t just the case itself, but the way people spoke about it, online as well as in interviews.
Our organisation is based on three operational pillars: fundraising, direct support for survivors, and advocacy and dialogue.
Whether through enigmatic events like the two editions of Battle of the Bands, or through wholesome bake sales and community fundraisers, Project S.H.E. has remained committed to mobilising community support through both monetary contributions and meaningful presence. Through these events and endeavours, we have raised and contributed more than Rs. 1,00,000 towards survivor care and rehabilitation.
Our partnership with Sahodaya Women's Help Home has contributed towards the establishment of a day-care centre for the children of domestic violence survivors-a nurturing space for them while their mothers work towards rebuilding their lives. More recently, funds raised through BOTB 2.0 were contributed to Sahodaya, Ammani Foundation, Snehalaya, and NIEPID, and helped support improvements in infrastructure and essential services across communities facing marginalisation.
Our dedicated team of writers and designers brings forward an expansive range of topics, from articles examining issues such as misogyny in the media to case posts that shed light on the violence faced by women and children. Our goal has always been to turn community support into tangible change- channelling that collective engagement towards advocacy and awareness-building.
Join our core team or volunteer, submit your creative work, or share your story with us.
We are always looking for individuals who are passionate about women’s empowerment and survivor rehabilitation to join our core team. You can also contribute as a volunteer by supporting our events, outreach campaigns, and media and advocacy initiatives.
Creative expression is vital to bringing any cause to life—be it through art, writing, design, or any other medium. Project S.H.E welcomes every expression of your artistic voice that reflects the values of equality and justice.
We believe every survivor deserves to tell their story in the way they choose—without dilution, dramatisation, or censorship. Whatever you are willing to share about a particular incident or experience, we are here to listen and to share it with the world on your terms.
All applications and stories open directly in Google Forms to ensure direct, unmediated delivery to the team.
Convenient, safe, and designed to ensure your contribution reaches those who need it most.
Our partnerships with organisations like Sayodhya help ensure that every contribution goes towards making someone’s life safer.
A small portion of your contribution is set aside to support future events and outreach campaigns. We then donate the funds raised through these initiatives to organisations working within Project S.H.E.’s areas of focus.
We are formally registered as Sarva Nirbhaya Foundation, a Section 8 company under the Companies Act, 2013. We were incorporated on 19 May 2026 under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.
